The IRS was needed at the time of the Civil War, which was costing the union two million dollars a day. It was instituted on July 1, 1862 and in 1872 it was repealed, and that should have been the end of it. Prior to that time our country ran entirely on tarriffs on foreign goods and it was extremely wealthy without taxing its citizenry. The 16th Amendment was never properly ratified but that did not matter to those in banking; they took it upon themselves to impose both property and the income tax by fiat. Everyone paid in...except for extremely wealthy BILLIONAIRES who use tax havens and multiple LLC's to hide their assets.
